This is my very first year of experiencing hunting woods next to standing corn.

Is it just me......or does that standing corn swallow up a lot of deer activity??

So far my sightings have been minimal.....yet the corn and the very edges are HEAVILY traveled.

Yes it does...the deer will stay in there until they cut it. Had the same thing last year until they cut it. You need to find where they are bedding and coming into it to feed. Maybe a neighboring lot or farm and find that pinch point and give it a try that way.

Standing corn is a pain...but, once they cut it it will be like a magnet for a week or so after.
    Good luck with it.

OK Charlie. Just want to make sure I wasn't missing something.

What you suggest is exactly what I'm doing. I'm set up between a bedding area and about 150 yards off the corn.

Yes...once it is cut...it should be GREAT!

You're not missing anything. They can live in the corn and never come out. And they are pretty safe from you......

The only other thing is to try and get on the edge of the bedding area without spooking them.

They are starting to push here so that area could get hot for you.
